3. Enroll in the Class

The Cougar Marching Band is a 1-credit class called MUS 444: Marching Band MTWTh 5:15-7:00pm. Enroll in the class when you register for your regular classes to avoid class conflicts! Actual rehearsal days vary and you CAN be involved even if you have conflicts…just ask us!

**PLEASE NOTE!**
– MUS444 is currently listed as MTWTh but only meets MTTh on non-game weeks.
– Major chem/math/physics/etc exams, School of Music concerts, or other university-wide events occurring during normal rehearsal time/day will modify the schedule such that winds will meet on Wednesday of that week, instead of the night of the conflict.
– The WSU Drumline will always meet MTWTh, regardless of the week.
– The entire band rehearses Friday evening before each home football game and again the day before the WSU Marching Band Championships.

As musicians, our ears are one of our most important assets, and the importance of protecting our hearing health cannot be understated, though standard earplugs that prevent us from being able to hear clearly will negatively impact our ability to perform. Vibes Hi-Fidelity Earplugs (seen on TV’s Shark Tank) are discreet, reusable earplugs designed for musicians. Instead of blocking and muffling sound like traditional foam earplugs, Vibes reduce the volume of loud live music to a safer and more comfortable level that prevents permanent hearing damage, while still allowing you to hear yourself and the rest of the ensemble play clearly.
Each pair of Vibes also includes:
  • Three sizes of interchangeable eartips to ensure a proper fit for any sized ear
  • Attachable cord that allow the earplugs to be hung around the neck and prevents them from getting lost
  • Pocket-sized carrying case
Vibes are trusted by dozens of the country’s top high school and college band programs (including schools like U of Alabama, U of Texas, and Indiana U), professional orchestras, military bands, and DCI drum corps (including the Blue Devils and Santa Clara Vanguard).
Washington State students and staff are eligible to purchase Vibes Hi-Fidelity Earplugs at the price of $17.00/pair, discounted from the standard price of $28.95/pair. All orders must be placed by August 1, 2024.
