WSU Cougar Pep Bands

Three separate Cougar Pep Bands provide entertainment and spirit at all home men’s and women’s basketball games and volleyball matches!  While the Pep Bands are a subset of the Cougar Marching Band, participation in the CMB is not required.

Stipend Membership

WSU provides and pays 30 musicians to perform at each home volleyball match, women’s basketball games and men’s basketball games.  These three bands are independent ensembles and have 30 stipend members each.  Auditions to become a stipend member occur on timeline below.  Stipend members also get first “dibs” at all tournament travel with the teams.

Students do not have to be stipend members to participate!  If a student doesn’t audition into a group or thinks the time commitment is too large, they can still participate by registering for MUS 444 in the spring semester.
